Our practice is named for Mt. Naomi — the highest peak in the Bear River Range, visible from our community. Like that landmark, we strive to be a steady, trusted presence for the women of Cache Valley.

Dr. Bertoldo
MD, MPH, FACOG
OB/GYN Physician
Dr. Bertoldo is a board-certified OB/GYN with a special interest in high-risk obstetrics, recurrent pregnancy loss, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr. Bertoldo is a Texas transplant to Cache Valley. He grew up wandering the US as his father served in the Air Force until his family ended up in San Antonio, TX. That was home for over 30 years. He still claims to be a Texan and that is just one reason you will always find him in a pair of cowboy boots whether he is delivering a baby or seeing patients in clinic. The boots aren't just for looks either. He spent summers working on a cattle ranch in southwest Wyoming so he knows how to ride and rope! Having lived here in Cache Valley for the past few years, he can't imagine being anywhere else. He is married with five kids (four boys and a lone girl) and they are just as in love with the Mountain West as him. If he is not working, you can likely find him outside doing a variety of activities. He loves to hike, fish, hunt, ski, mountain bike, and explore the mountains that surround our home here Cache Valley. He is a member of the Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol as one of their doctors and spends most free Saturdays skiing (and snowboarding!!) with his family there.

Deb Flansburg

Certified Nurse midwife
Deb Flansburg is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with over 25 years of experience in caring for women and babies. She and her husband have been married for 34 years and have a hobby farm in Cache Valley where she enjoys her garden, herbs, animals and honey bees. She has 3 adult children and 3 wonderful grandchildren (one of which she had the honor of delivering!).

Deena Balls

Certified Nurse midwife
Deena is a Certified Nurse Midwife with a passion for providing compassionate, evidence-based care to women throughout all stages of life. She has served as the Director of Women’s Services at Cache Valley Hospital, as well as having over 10 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse. She is a mother to four children, enjoys being outdoors, and making memories with her family traveling to different places.
